NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN RIVERS STATE TO REOPEN TODAY FOLLOWING SEVEN-MONTH CLOSURE DUE TO CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC.

Nursery and Primary schools are expected to reopen in Rivers State following a seven-month closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Education, Sir CHIDI ADIELE, had confirmed this last Monday in a statement on behalf of the Commissioner for Education, KANIYE EBEKU.


In the meantime, the National Association of Private School Proprietors, Rivers State Chapter, has confirmed the readiness of members to comply with the COVID-19 protocols as outlined by the State health authorities.

The Vice Chairman of the Association, SUNDAY JAJA, confirmed this in a telephone interview with our correspondent.


The Rivers State Vice Chairman of NAPPS also ruled out a coronavirus discount for parents in payment of school fees of pupils in private nursery and primary schools.
