Rivers State Governor, NYESOM WIKE has frowned at the disobedience of COVID-19 protocols by some churches in the state.
Governor WIKE warned that if this continued, the State government would have no option than to review the restriction on the number of people allowed to worship in churches.
WIKE said this at the Saint Thomas Anglican Church in Mile 2 Diobu, in Port Harcourt, during family special thanksgiving service organised in honour of the wife Chief AZUBUIKE NMERUKINI’S, Dame OROMA, who survived critical medical condition.
A statement by his Special Assistant on Media, KELVIN EBIRI, quoted Governor WIKE, saying he observed during the service that more than 80 per cent of worshippers did not wear facemasks during the event.
